Utah receivers coach Aaron Roderick, thought to be the leading candidate to replace Andy Ludwig as Utah's offensive coordinator, is at the University of Washington and could be the Huskies' next receivers coach.

Roderick confirmed he was visiting the university through a text, but said he hasn't made a decision.

Like new Washington coach Steve Sarkisian, Roderick is a graduate of BYU. The two were at BYU together in 1996. Roderick redshirted in 1996, when Sarkisian was in the middle of setting several school records as the Cougars' quarterback.

Roderick joined Utah's staff in 2005 after serving as SUU's offensive coordinator with Gary Andersen in 2003-04.

In addition to coaching Utah's receivers, Roderick is one of Utah's strongest recruiters and is responsible for Orange County and San Bernardino, Calif.

Recent commits Craig Payne, a 6-foot-3, 297-pound defensive tackle out of Colony High School in Ontario, Calif., and Ray Magee, a 6-3, 220-pound receiver out of Fullerton College, both said one of the reasons they chose Utah was the way Roderick recruited them.

Utah coach Kyle Whittingham couldn't be reached for comment.
