Last Saturday night, I felt extremely disappointed with Mitt Romney's speech at the Salt Palace. I used to see him as the Republican who supported health care for all when he was governor of Massachusetts. Now he's just another Republican who feeds the fire against health care reform. What happened to the respected Romney I used to know? He has the potential to attract former Barack Obama supporters, yet his speech only isolated these voters.
Romney doesn't need to derail our president like the rest of the Republicans; he already has the Republican base. Why not attract the moderates and independents who valued his former approach to health care?
