In response to The Tribune 's "coverage" of the southern Utah artifacts raid, I say congratulations. Congratulations, if your goal was to cover one side of the story and perpetuate stereotypes. If so, Tribune journalists have certainly done well.

I was born and raised in Blanding, and it's absurd to read your articles, where you have so obviously worked to make all Blanding citizens appear to be uneducated rednecks who don't believe in laws or government. The Los Angeles Times sent a journalist to Blanding, who probably spent one day interviewing locals, and he managed to write an article that included both sides of the story and was much more in-depth and accurate than all The Salt Lake Tribune articles combined.

Most people in Blanding don't believe in breaking laws, but they do believe in basic human rights, like not having your toes broken while being arrested. Blanding citizens believe that small children should not have guns pointed in their faces. You've taken citizens' comments out of context to make them look like government-bashing, uneducated idiots.

Your journalists should tell the whole story for once, instead of just the parts they think the majority want to read to validate their prejudices.
