Questar Gas and several subcontractors settled a wrongful death lawsuit Monday for a natural gas explosion that killed two people in February 2007.

District Judge Robert Hilder signed off on the settlement, granting an undisclosed sum of money to Greg Roper, whose 24-year-old wife, April, died when their Saratoga Springs home exploded. Also killed in the incident was Larry Radford, a 48-year-old Questar employee, who was investigating a gas leak.

A natural gas line was ruptured by a cable company employee working in the front yard, Utah County sheriff's deputies have said. When April Roper and Radford later entered the home to restart appliances in the basement, the home suddenly blew up.

Greg Roper was outside with his child at the time and they were not injured, authorities have said.

As part of the settlement, Roper agreed to drop the lawsuit against Questar, S&E Cable, Angilau Communications and Construction, Niels Fugal Sons Co., and Qwest Communications Corp., according to court documents.
