Juab High School and Junior High were evacuated Wednesday morning due to a bomb threat, police and school officials said.

Police searched the school, finishing about 3 p.m., and no devices were found, said Nephi Police Chief Michael Morgan. No one had been arrested by about 3:30 p.m., he said, though officers are still investigating.

The threat was written on a wall in a stairwell on the north end of Juab High School, said Business Administrator Darin Clark. It was the second of two messages; the first was found the night before, but not considered serious enough to cancel school. The second message was more detailed, Clark said.

Because Juab Junior High is very close to the high school, officials decided about 9:45 a.m. to evacuate both and cancel classes for the day "as a safety precaution," Clark said. Close to 1,000 students were sent home, about 660 from the high school and 330 from the junior high.

The high school is located at 802 N. 650 East and the junior high is at 555 E. 800 North.
