Police from across Salt Lake County helped round up a fugitive gang member who fled from officers early Tuesday.

The admitted white supremacist was booked into jail a few weeks ago on suspicion of burglary and a weapons crime, but posted bail before federal agents could place a no-bail hold on him, said Salt Lake County Sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson. A gang detective spotted the 34-year-old's Chevy Silverado near 2700 S. 900 East. Officers tried to stop him a few blocks later but he did not pull over and a pursuit began.

The fugitive made it all the way to 4800 South in Taylorsville before an officer there used a spike strip to flatten his tires, Hutson said. The fugitive ran on foot but deputies caught him. He is being held in the Salt Lake County jail without bail.
