Two people were arrested Monday on suspicion of beating and kicking a 27-year-old Vernal man.
The Uintah County Sheriff's Office said a 24-year-old Roosevelt man and an 18-year-old Myton woman allegedly kicked the man during a fight near an oil field. Authorities found the beaten man unconscious about 7:30 a.m. on the side of a road in southwest Uintah County. He was taken to a local hospital and then flown to Salt Lake City for additional medical care.
Deputies interviewed four people at the nearby oil field and determined the 24-year-old man and the injured man were fighting. The man and the woman were arrested in connection with the beating and for allegedly kicking the man while he was laying on the ground.
Two other people were arrested on unrelated misdemeanor charges and outstanding warrants, the sheriff's office reported.
