An Arizona woman died early Saturday morning after she fell asleep while driving, police said.
The accident happened about 2 a.m. in a remote part of Kane County, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Ted Tingey.
Caitlin M. Moore, 21, of Tuscon Ariz., was driving northbound on State Road 89 near Church Wells when her 2002 Honda Civic veered off the right side of the road and hit a pole. The car rolled several times and came to rest upside down.
The accident was reported to police when another driver saw the car about 3 a.m., Tingey said. Moore was wearing a seat belt, but suffered major injuries and died at the scene. Investigators do no believe drugs or alcohol were factors.
