West Jordan police arrested a 19-year-old man Saturday after he broke into his ex's home, waited for her to return and attacked her with a glass beer bottle.
Police said the man kicked, punched and hit the woman with the glass bottle then slapped and pushed her, "causing serious bodily injury," according to an affidavit filed with the Salt Lake County jail.
As she called 911 for help, around 2:40 p.m., the man took the phone and hung up, the affidavit said.
The incident occurred in front of the couple's child, police said.
The man was booked into jail on suspicion of first-degree felony aggravated burglary, third-degree felony aggravated assault and class B misdemeanor charges of assault, interruption of a communication device and domestic violence in the presence of a child.
