Sandy police arrested a 32-year-old man Saturday after he threatened a security guard with a knife and then maced him.

A bouncer at Club Allure, near 8900 South and Harrison Street, saw the man slashing tires around 1 a.m. and confronted him in the club's parking lot. The man sprayed the guard in the eyes using mace and ran off.

The guard again confronted the man, so he pulled out a knife and threatened the guard.

Security guards were eventually able to take the man down and detain him until police arrived.

He was booked into the Salt Lake County jail on suspicion of third-degree felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor criminal mischief.
