A project manager with the construction company Build Inc. has been charged with 10 felony counts of theft for stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment from his employers and charging some of the purchases to public projects.

The 37-year-old Herriman man alledgedly bought two generators worth nearly $6,000 in May 2007, claiming the equipment was for an Interstate 215 project, according to charges filed Friday in 3rd District Court.

He also allegedly charged more than $2,000 worth of lumber to a project on 800 North, and bought another approximately $2,000 generator for a bridge project in Delta, also in 2007. None of the items arrived at the sites.

A bill for drywall installed at his home was allegedly charged to a Little Mill Campground project in January 2008. He is also charged with buying two all-terrain vehicles, a trailer, and other company credit card purchases between June 2006 and January 2008.
