A 10-year-old Duchesne girl suffered serious injuries when she was hit by a car while biking across a street.
The crash occurred about 1 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of State Road 40 and State Road 191, said Utah Highway Patrol spokesman Jeff Nigbur.
The girl was with two friends crossing the street when a westbound car driven by a West Valley City woman failed to see the girl and struck her. The girl was thrown about 40 feet, Nigbur said.
The girl was transported by ambulance to Uintah Basin Medical Center with a broken pelvis and a collapsed lung. She was later flown to a Salt Lake City hospital. Her injuries don't appear life-threatening, Nigbur said.
Charges are pending against the driver, Nigbur said.
