A South Salt Lake man pleaded guilty Monday to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of children.

Dewayne Eugene Hopkins, 27, admitted that he and a co-conspirator took photos of a minor girl and published them on craigslist.com in the spring of 2008. He also said he drove the girl from Taylorsville to a Midvale hotel so she could engage in sex acts and collected part of the money she received.

Sentencing by U.S. District Judge Ted Stewart is set for Sept. 1. Details of the plea dead were not released. Without the plea deal, Hopkins could have faced five years in prison and a $250,000 fine. The case against Hopkins' co-defendant, Julia Jane Young, is pending.
