Salt Lake City firefighters quenched a blaze in an abandoned hotel located at 300 North and 300 West Tuesday night, department spokesman Scott Freitag said.
The fire started at about 10:45 p.m. in the Temple View hotel, likely by homeless people who were trying to keep warm, Freitag said. It burnt a small section in the middle of the one-story building, which has been closed for at least a few years.
