A westbound semitrailer truck carrying a load of rocks overturned in Summit County about 7:50 this morning.
Rusted brakes may have caused the truck to veer off the side of State Road 35 on a downhill slope about halfway between Woodland and Tabiona, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Jeff Plank.
A 22-year-old female passenger from Duchesne was ejected and taken by helicopter to University Hospital with head injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt and may have been in the back sleeper portion of the truck, Plank said.
The 29-year-old male driver, also of Duchesne, was not ejected. He was transported by ambulance with a broken shoulder, Plank said.
The accident did not close the road.
