Posted: 2:30 PM- A West Jordan man died Saturday morning in a trucking company accident, police said.

About 10:30 a.m., 21-year-old Peter Koons was helping a driver attaching a semi tractor to a trailer after the tractor was repaired at CR England, 4701 W. South Frontage Road (2100 South) in West Valley City, said West Valley City Police Lt. Bill Merritt.

As the driver backed the trailer into place, Koons somehow got caught between the trailer and the tractor. Other workers could not hear him in the noisy work bay, Merritt said, and Koons was crushed. He died at the scene.
