Posted: 10:59 AM- Two people were killed and a third injured after their car rolled on Interstate 15 in Washington County Saturday morning. Police believe alcohol was involved.
About 1:30 a.m., the white 2005 Ford Mustang was traveling northbound through Washington, according to a Utah Highway Patrol press release.
The car was speeding and veered off the left side of the road then began to roll. It rolled several times and came to rest on its left side.
The driver, 35-year-old Sheila A. Tahy, and rear passenger, Fermina Begay, 36, both of St. George, suffered fatal injuries, the release stated.
The front-seat passenger, Hurricane resident Zenas Tallman, 36, was taken to Dixie Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. All three were wearing seat belts.
The accident caused lane closures on Interstate 15 for about two hours.
