Michael Birkeland was booked into jail for felony theft after a Utah Valley University art instructor told police that he appeared on the Web camera of a stolen computer.

According to an affidavit filed in Provo's 4th District Court, Birkeland attended an art class at the school in April as the guest of a class model. Court documents say while he was there, he was seen using an instructor's computer, which was missing after he left the classroom.

Birkeland appeared in movies such as "Church Ball," "The Singles Ward" and "The Home Teachers."

He made bail on Monday.
