A 67-year-old Henefer man died in Summit County on Sunday afternoon in a motorcycle crash.

The crash that killed Kent David Ballard occurred in Echo on Echo Road about 2:20 p.m., the Summit County Sheriff's Office reported.

Ballard was riding a 1972 Honda street bike when he lost control and drove off the right side of the road, witnesses told police.

Ballard was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered critical head injuries, the sheriff's office reported. He was not wearing a helmet.

Medical personnel arrived and tried to revive Ballard, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
