Utah's top recruit in the class of 2013 can now add two more SEC powers to the list of programs that are after him.

This week, Auburn and Alabama extended offers to Cottonwood quarterback Cooper Bateman, The Tribune has learned. The Colts' junior previously received offers from Florida, Colorado, Maryland, Utah, BYU and Boise State.

Between Auburn and Florida, programs that have won three of the last six BCS national championships have offered Bateman. Both the Tigers (Cam Newton) and Gators (Tim Tebow) have had quarterbacks win the Heisman Trophy since 2007.

BYU's women's soccer program has signed seven new recruits, including five all-state players from Utah.
"We're going to bring in a lot of Utah girls this year that we've known for a long time, and we're excited about that," said BYU coach Jennifer Rockwood. "All of these girls have been to camps over the years and we're really familiar with them."
The incoming freshmen will join the Cougars in early August.

Fanaika told The Tribune he will sign his Letter of Intent on Wednesday, but that things are "up in the air" as to where he will send that letter. He said he is "pretty much" deciding between Stanfor...

Cooper Bateman continues to draw attention from across the country.

The Cottonwood junior quarterback has already received offers from as far away as the University of Maryland and from programs as prominent as Boise State, Utah and BYU.

Now, he can add Colorado and Florida to his list of options.

Bateman received an offer from Florida Sunday night and the Buffaloes Monday morning, bringing his total to six.

Bateman threw for 2,484 yards and 25 touchdowns last season, as he guided the Colts through a rebuilding season. As a sophomore in 2010, the Colts finished 10-1 behind 1,822 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Hooker was recruited by several Pac-12 schools including Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado in addition to Hawaii.
He visited the Utes last weekend and decided Salt Lake City could be a good fit for him.
"I liked it and it was real modern," he said. "It topped all the other schools and schematically I fit into their program."
Hooker was recruited by quarterbacks coach Brian Johnson and hosted by safety Brian Blechen.

Whittingham and safeties coach Morgan Scalley paid a visit to corner Greg Allen, a 6-foot, 200-pound corner out of Alief Taylor H.S., in Houston, Texas and left with a commitment from Allen on Monday.
Allen was planning to visit Kansas but cancelled the trip and said his commitment to the Utes was solid.

The Utah Utes are getting the help they need along their defensive line in a big way as Visesio Salt, a product of Brighton H.S. who went on a mission before playing at Mt. San Antonio Community College, has switched his commitment from Florida to Utah.
Salt said he made the switch so he could play in front of family members and friends.
"I've been away from home for too long now," he said. "It's time that I play my last two years in front of my family and friends."
Salt said he plans to enroll in the fall.
